6 Simple Remedies for Stress Relief

Updated: Jun 6

In today’s world, it comes as no surprise that stress is one of the major issues affecting people all over the world. And while you may be stressed from some of the commonly known stressors, you will be surprised to know that you could still be receiving stress from something even as simple as the constant electromagnetic frequencies (EMFs) all around you.

In fact, did you know that around 74% of people say that in the last year, they’ve felt so stressed that they’ve been unable to cope? You may not be at that point just yet, but it is definitely worth taking some steps now to reduce your stress levels before you get there.

The great news is that there are ways you can cut back on feelings of stress each day, and many are simply from the comfort of your own home. Here are some of our top 6 tips.

Treat Yourself to a Harmonic Egg Session

When you feel like you need some extra help, we highly recommend trying a Harmonic Egg session. This is a great way to reset your Autonomic Nervous System, from "flight or flight" to "rest and restore". And while every session is different depending on the person and their health goals, you may find that you have a greater sense of balance and peace within yourself after an Egg session.

So what is The Harmonic Egg? Simply put, it is a new holistic energy healing technology and is referred to as a healing resonance chamber. You are reclined back into a zero-gravity chair and are surrounded by soothing sounds, lights, frequencies, vibrations, and sacred geometry, as you gently drift away in your 50 minute session. Each session includes 40 minutes of music followed by 10 minutes for you to fully integrate your session.

We are currently providing new client’s with $30 off your 1st in-person Harmonic Egg session. The Holistic Healing Center | Harmonic Egg Madison is located on the west side of Madison, near Float Factor at 338 Junction Road, Madison, WI 53717. You can book your session online at HarmonicEggMadison.com. You can also call or text us at (608) 585-8575.

Exercise

Exercise is the number one way to handle stress.

It is important to note, however, not all exercise is created equal and is dependent on what you like to do. This will allow you to get the most out of your physical activity and effectively reduce your stress. And if you haven’t already started an exercise routine, just know you can start at any time and start slow so you can stick with it.

Exercise is an amazing way to increase endorphins - and positive feelings - moving through your body. People who exercise regularly are less likely to suffer from anxiety than those who do not.

When you exercise – even only a little – you reduce the amount of stress hormones in your body and replace them with handy endorphins, which help to boost your mood.

Exercise can also help improve your sleep quality, which is often negatively affected by anxiety and stress. When you get enough sleep, you’re more capable of dealing with stressful feelings.

To get the most out of your exercise routine, it’s important to find an activity you truly enjoy and mix it in with your schedule - even if it’s just walking for a few minutes each day.

Get Social

Do you ever get the urge to isolate yourself when you’re stressed out or nervous? Believe it or not, you are not alone. However, withdrawing from your social activities could make your stress worse. Being around people, especially those who care about you, will help you get through tough times.

One study found that spending time with friends helps to release oxytocin - your natural stress reliever. Some professionals refer to the socialising response as the “tend and befriend” approach, rather than the “fight or flight” that we are used to with stress.

And if you can not physically meet with someone face to face, there are other ways to connect. Simply calling a friend or loved one as well as getting involved in a virtual group may help.

Make Yourself Laugh

Have you ever noticed that it’s difficult to keep focusing on the things that make you feel anxious or stressed when you’re laughing? Laughter is genuinely good for your health, both from a physical and a mental perspective. It helps to relieve tension in your muscles and decreases your stress response.

Over time, regular periods of laughter can improve your mood and help your immune system to work better. According to a study of people suffering with cancer, people who laughed most experienced more stress relief than those who just distracted themselves.

You could read a funny book, talk to a friend who makes you laugh, or even try laughing yoga. Sometimes it's even helpful to recall a time that made you laugh.

Practice Self-Care Activities

We can all benefit from investing more time and effort into ourselves. As you’re well aware, we live in a society where it’s increasingly common for people to prioritise working too much or barely getting any sleep. However, these are the kinds of things that increase your stress.

Sometimes, it’s important to look at your life and ask yourself what you need to feel better. That could mean taking the time that you need for yourself and saying “no” when others ask you for help. It’s not selfish – it’s about giving yourself the help you need first.

Good self-care could also mean changing your routine. Go to bed earlier or change your menus so that you’re eating healthier food. It could also be taking a few minutes at the start of each day to breathe, say what you’re grateful for, and be with yourself. Invest time and energy into things that make you feel good – even if it’s just taking a walk in the park.

Try Something New

Sometimes all you need to get rid of stress is a new passion.

With that in mind, why not try something new? Take an art class with a friend and see whether being creative each day could help you to eliminate anxiety. There are plenty of studies that indicate that creative activities can reduce your anxiety levels.

If art isn’t your thing, try learning how to cook. Taking a class that teaches you how to create delicious and nutritious meals is an excellent way to get a new hobby going. When you’re cooking, you will be focused on what you’re doing in the kitchen, rather than spending all of your energy worrying about the things that bother you.

Plus, learning how to cook could help you to eat healthier too!

Summing it All Up

Try one of these effective strategies the next time you’re feeling stressed. When you get in the habit of using these regularly, you may find greater enjoyment in your daily life.

We hope that this article helps you to bring more peace and harmony back into your life.
